How much A time after a short nap?
« on: February 13, 2009, 17:26:05 pm »
My 3mo lo has been taking 30 min. naps for the last month.  We're working on it and trying everything, but it's not getting any better so far.  I'm confused, though, about how much A time after her short nap.  I was told after a 30 min. nap, to reduce A time by 30 mins.  But then it seems like that would run into her next feeding time, unless I'm completely misunderstanding.  I'm kind of confused.  For example,

Eat 8:00
Awake
Sleep 9:30
Awake 10:00

So her next feeding is due at 11:00.  But by that point she's been up for an hour.  Do I feed her and immediately put her down?  lol Hopefully this is making sense :)  I'm just confused and not sure what to do from here.  Thanks for any help!!

When you've got short naps and feeds clashing with nap times etc you just have to try and be a bit flexible and stick as much as possible to not feeding to sleep. So yes, you could feed at 10.45, and then just do five mins A time and put her down for the next nap as close to 11 as possible.
