Right! You're on the right track, you need the badge! You just need to take some out! I also wanted to be careful as I didn't want my badge to have my full name on, for security reasons... I'll do a full step-by-step for others if they want it:
On your Facebook, click "profile" so that you're looking at your profile. Scroll down and on the left side beneath all your notes and albums and everything it will have a small link that says "Create a Profile Badge". Click that.
The Profile Badges page should then come up and it will have a sample of what it will look like. To the right of the preview and code is a link that says "Edit this Badge". You can click that and change the layout and content of the badge to look however you like. For security, I only have my photo and no other information, but it's personal preference! My settings are "horizontal" and I only have "Profile pic" clicked.
When you're finished there and happy, save it. This will take you back to the previous screen. I then opened a blank word document and copy/pasted the HTML code there so that I could see it in it's entirety.
NOW - this is where you need a keen eye!
You need to cut the last two links in the block of code and paste them in like this: (2nd-to-last link first, and last link second - the last link will have ".png" at the end)

IT MUST LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THIS,
EXCEPT FOR THE STARS!! (But you own name and/or digits, obviously... I had to put the stars in so that you could see the text of the link) All spaces, etc. must be present! It will also be one big line, no "enters" or separate paragraphs. *** Not all of the links have numerical digits in their URLs, don't worry - it'll still work! ***
