Head banging while trying to fall asleep in crib
« on: October 01, 2014, 23:47:05 pm »
My lo has been banging his head on the crib mattress at night which he's done before but this is the past few nights. I know it's a self stim method and some los use it to calm down before bed but  wondering why he's doibg it the past few nights and it's also taking him a while to fall asleep up to 30 mins when he usually falls after 5 mins or so. Does he need a differebt or longer wind down routine?  We always dim lights and put on the goodnight show on sprout and then to to bath then pjs cup of milk and into crib. He's been climbing on and off eveything all day practicing msybe this is just winding him up?  I've tried to sit with him longer in his room but then he just starts to play throw his bunny or milk cup down 100 times for me to pick up lol

Developmental?  Having a hard time switching off after learning a new skill?  Routine tweak needed?  Longer winddown?

This usually tends to happen when he sleeps late in the morning and his nap is later and bedtime too! I'll try the longer windown. Thanks
