Moving 2am feed too early?
« on: February 28, 2016, 20:33:23 pm »
My boy is 3 weeks old, eats every 2 1/2-3 hours in the day and will sleep from bedtime (8-9) until 2 and he wakes for a feed. Then he's right back down until 5, but he lays there and grunts for a long time. I've been trying for a few nights to implement the dream feed. Either he won't wake up enough to do it or he will and then he's still waking at 2. Then we are up and down for about an hour because he wakes up. I hold him til he's calm and he takes the paci so I know he isn't hungry. He'll finally drop off again then I feed him at 4. My question is is it too soon to be trying to move the 2am feed? Should I just keep enjoying our long stretch? And can he be habitually waking already?

No it wouldn't be a habit thing at this age. My DD3 resisted the dream feed to so I gave up after a week and let her wake for feeds, nothing I could do would rouse her no matter what time I tried it.
