spaghetti sqush
« on: September 20, 2006, 19:06:29 pm »
Hi ,
I have heard a lot of people talking about spaghetti squash, so I found a little one today and want to cook it for my dd. Not sure how? Has anyone tried it and if so was it good.

Kim-

I've cooked it like a baked potato: pierced it numerous times, bake in a dish at 375 for about an hour, cut it in half & scrape out the seeds and then remove fleshy edible part with a fork. It freezes really well and Belle loves it.  Maybe somebody has an easier way... but this has worked for us. Hope this helps!

You can also do it in the microwave.

Normally I cut mine in half cross ways, seems to cut down on the cooking time. Also, I put a bit of water in the pan/dish, sort of steams the inside.

Kim...not sure if you are aware of the best mama-made babyfood website-- http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com
It has great info on preppin, storing& introducing all sorts of food to baby!

Hi Danielle...thanks for reminding me of that process for squash, . I had used that way as well, but I did it in the oven.

See ya
