My 15 month old SPIRITED toddler and I have been trying to figure out our naps. He seems ready for longer awake times and for the one nap instead of 2, but... Here is our challenge. He usually wakes at about 6-630 am, so by mid am he is tired. It would be fine if his 11 am nap lasted 2 hours, but it is at the longest 1 1/2 hours. I have tried everything including wake to sleep but nothing works. I have been trying to put him for another nap mid afternoon, but after 1 hour of him romping around, of me holding him fiirmly so he doesn't move around so he can settle, and with none of this working, I give up. He is therefore getting one short nap a day.
I am aware that when naps change from two to one, they will be longer to make up for the lost nap. Not with us.
What can I do? Should I be concerned? ( he goes to be about 6-7pm, so he is getting about 10 -12 hours a night depending on the night) Is his short day sleep okay if he is making up for it at night?
Any replys would be so appreciated.
Thank you,
Melissa
