Did you try just plain honey...Sofia loves to dip it in her nuggets. or how about honey mustard ?? I just discovered both recently because our LO got fed up of the same foods being offered.

What does his doctor say about all this ? My doctor says it is very normal for our children to stop eating between age 2-3yrs old. It does not take long to fill our LO's tummies. Just watch everything he eats mark it down and show your doctor. Maybe he is filling up on snacks.

Is your LO constipated from time to time ? (sorry for asking)  That is why our Sofia will sometimes eat very little supper because she ate very well at lunch. I try to offer her drinks to help her go.

If you omit snacks and just offer meals that might work.

i am not a big one on offering snacks as he eats like a bird already... He does get at daycare but he doesn't eat most of what they offer as he's so picky!   i did talk to the dr and she said she's not concerned as he's not loosing any weight ( he's always been a bigger boy) he's 2 on the 24th and still holding onto 34-35 lbs.  We did a bloos test to see if he was lacking any vitamins and she never got back to me so i guess there is nothing wrong there.  she siad just offer it to him, if he eats it great if not oh well....

i do find some days when he hasn't had a poop he does want to drink more then eat, but he is usually very regular daily.

i just don't get why he had such a open mind before and not now and getting worse.  So i am going to crack down even harder starting friday as friday they have turkey dinner at  daycare ( thanks giving here this weekend) and sat at my mom's and sun at my hubby's mom's.  so he isn't getting anything else but what we eat and then next week i am doing the same, getting a raosted chicken and he will have one veggie, meat and something else all week!  eventually i would hope he would try it as it will be familiar to him, all i want is for him to try it!  i figure if i have no more chicken finger, fish sticks at all then he will finally try something else.

eating has gotten so much worse but i think it's those molars again giving him greif!!!  They wer poking through 2 weeks ago and now they are flush with the gums again.  He is eating almost nothing all day except drinking lots of milk.  Fri he ate a yougart!!!!! Sat he ate 1/2 a nutella sandwich!!!! that's it!  I tried soup last night and no go???? just milk and more milk..... he is getting picky with that too and wants only chocolate milk!!!!!

What does the doctor say about all of this ?...Did you try offering yogurt drink....or how about a smoothie. Those work when molars are coming in. Take half a banana with plain yogurt and fruit (ex: strawberries or blueberries or any kind of fruit) with some milk. Put it in a blender and let her rip....He will love it. Give it a shot....even if he does not like it at least you tried.

Sometimes to encourage Sofia to eat I take a bite or sip of whatever she is having and then she tries it. It usually encourages her to try it.

p.s Try offering smoothies for a while and see if that works until the molars come through.
Just remember to tell yourself that this too shall pass. Trust me, from one mommy who truly has been through it.  ;D

yes yougart drinks and smoothies he goes for but he would live off them if he could!  The dr didn't seem concerned as he's still in the 90% percentile or something.  He just turned 2 on fri and was 34-35 lbs, now is 31.5.  So she says to keep giving him is vitamins and hopefully it's a phase.  I said yah right a phase, it's been since he was 14.5 months!!! pretty long phase if you ask me!!!!!!  hopefully he will eat better soon adn try new items, as his list is getting shorter and shorter by the day and hasn't tried a new food item since 15 months!

Is your LO in daycare or at home.? I am just curious. I know I had alot of eating issues with my dd when she was an infant. She gagged on everything. She was on pureed foods until she was about 15mths. The daycare helped me get over that stage. I was so worried that I brought her to a eating disorder clinic that specializes in infants (dysphagia clinic). They said to try to feed her slower and let her play with her food. She is chewing but is having a hard time swallowing it down.

If your LO is in a daycare like mine is, they learn by watching others. That is how my dd started to eat better. But, now that she is two years old she follows the others, sometimes she eats alot and does her own thing. Sometimes, she follows the others who barely eat.

If your LO is around other children, then he can watch them eat. It helps. Sometimes, I have Sofia eat at her own little table (princess table) because she hates sitting on her highchair (getting old for that) and the dining room table is too high for her. So, my dh bought her a princess table. She lovessssss it. It has help her eating issues a bit. She eats. I just learned to ease up on the eating issues.

Just to give you an idea. My backup meal that I know Sofia will eat is Toast with cheese. I sneak in a layer of veggies in there. Sometimes sweet potato or cauliflower (pureed and frozen all the time so it is ready). Sofia ate this meal all week. But at least it is something. I am learning not to fight it anymore and just accept it.

I have made countless recipies that have backfired in the past and a month later she loves it. I guess the idea is to keep trying. I offer Sofia alot of cheese ideas because she lovesss it.

I feel your pain because I went through it and still go through it from time to time.  ::) ::)

Hang in there  ;D

he's in daycare, we started on sept 2nd! not one new thing he will try even there with his friends eating it.  I was hoping that daycare would be our answer but no difference yet.

Give it a bit of time. Daycare is the answer, it was for us. It took Sofia quite a bit of time before she tried a cheerio...now she eats them by the handful. There was a time, I used to cut them up and soak them in milk until they were completely mushy and that backfired. I look at that example and realize how far we have come.

This will happen to your son as well. Give it time, they can't live on air forever... ::)
