my son 4months constantly dribbles milk from his mouth whilst feeding this started when i changed him to medium flow teats as he was falling asleep on the slow flow ones during his feed does any one else have this problem, he has reflux is there a connection?

it will take a bit of time for him to get used to the bigger size teats , i don't think there is a connection with reflux , he just need to get used to the milk coming out faster.

that is what i thought but he has been on medium flow since he was 6 days old as the midwife told me to change them because he was not taking enough formula due to being too tired to suck,
he splutters milk as well who ever feeds him ends up wearing the milk too.

we changed to medium flow shortly after we left the hospital for the same reasons  , the milk wasn't coming fast enough and because he was so little he was getting tired of sucking , it took him a while to get used to the faster flow .

i could be wrong but i don't think there is anything you can do for the dribbling of milk , he will either be a dribbler or get used to the faster flow.the spit up is obviously his reflux, even on meds Ryan still spit up a lot

there isn't a problem with dribbling at feeds , a lot of LO's do it .as for the spitting up Ryan was still spitting up after 12months

can you try and put a pin prick in a slow flow teat and see if your LO can handle that any better?

What brand of bottles/teats do you use?  My dd was a dribbler at first until we figured out she couldn't handle the Avent bottles. We went with Gerber Nuk and haven't had a problem since. Just an idea.
