Last night was better - woke at 1am and took a 6.5oz bottle and then at 5am.

It's the 5am that's the killer...I think this one is habitual.  He is really difficult to settle, just WIDE awake, but you can tell he's still tired, and over the past week I have basically just been giving up on this one and bringing him into bed with me.

I think the Advil probably helped, and maybe even the cereal too :)

LOL, I always put ds with me in bed at that time.  Alternately, if you think it's habitual, you can always try wake to sleep to get through that early waking.

I really don't mind the 5am snuggle session, I have to admit I am becoming slightly addicted to it  :P

We will see how tonight goes, today was good :)  This morning he had his nap and woke after 35mins, I patted his back for about 10 until he was dozing then left.  He woke a few mins later and fussed for about 10mins, the back to sleep for another hour and 20mins.  Then this afternoon...took a 1hr 50min nap like it was nothing new!  Hopefully this keeps up  ;D

Tried the rice cereal again at about 5:30pm, but I think next time I need to bump it earlier because he had trouble finishing his bedtime bottle.  I think around 4pm next time provided he takes a bottle around 3pm (he napped later so I had to push out his feed).

So true!  I was actually thinking earlier how much I missed it as he's not needed it in ages.  :)

Good luck with the rest!

Crazy idea - but I would change to barley or oatmeal baby cereal.. given his low fluid intake right now, rice cereal is gonna cause a way bigger issue than not sleeping ;)

As for that early 5am wake up, if you figure it out, let me know ;)  We had a lot of snuggles at 530am... 2 yr molars ;)

I was thinking of changing to oatmeal anyway because I am hearing some bad stuff about arsenic in rice!  And I hear they are now recommending you only give your baby rice cereal once a week.  So, we haven't had any constipation issues yet (but it's only been a few days), but I think it might be better to switch to oatmeal either way.  Seems to be eating a bit better, I think it was a cold/teeth combo (yuck!)

No 5am waking today!  Slept until about 6:50am and only woke once to feed at 1:30am.  AND, 2 x 2hr naps yesterday! :)  Today, not so much this morning, and one with mommy this afternoon :P  It's a rainy day here! (My excuse! lol)

I should also mention, when I say a "bowl" of cereal I don't literally mean a bowl lol.  I mix it in a bowl, but it amounts to about a tablespoon!  Just a little taste :)

LOL!  I assumed you weren't giving him 1/3 cup quite yet ;)
