DS has a few dry cheerios, a slice of toast and marmite or peanut butter and a yogurt - will pick at fruit too.  Not really interested in breakfast.

Hi,

My DS has a range of things: he loves breakfast cereal- weetbix, oatmeal and fruit, pancakes, toast with jam are just some oh his favourites. We usually have a few different brands in the cupboard and alternate them so he doesn't get bored. At the moment I found a new one that has oat flakes in it for greater texture.

HTH,
Ruth

Weetabix, cereal, fruit, toast, sausages and tomatoes, toast and jam (yum), brioche (yum yum!), croissants and if its a very special day Chocolate Croissants!!!

We try and vary it as much as possible because she is a great eater at breakfast.

we do weetabix (as it keeps her regular LOL) but then I  do either poached egg/pumpkin pancake/toast and vegemite with some fruit.  on the weekend, its more like more pancakes or eggs.  I'm finding she doens't eat as much as before for bfast, and I find an egg is great protein for her.

Oh right never knew that.ty

I am abit worried though, coz a few years ago I had reaction to Almond, they checked me & said I didn't but allergy Dr said the test doesn't out enough in your body & is different from having it orally.

Have to admit I was scared too - so gave him it at the weekend when dh was there - in case he had a reaction.

Maybe check with your doc first if you had a nut reaction - best to be safe.

Katie has a bowl of cereal and milk (eg shreddies, special K, bran flakes, or a combination) plus a slice of toast, usually with peanut butter on. She's a creature of habit and seems to like the same thing every day - she eats more at breakfast than the rest of the day put together.

I figure the cereals are all fortified with iron and vitamins, and the peanut butter has lots of protein, so together with the carbs that's a good start to the day.  I sometimes put fruit in with the cereal but she picks it out carefully and leaves it...

When my dd was going through a fussy stage at around 18 months she would not eat cereal. I tried to vary her breakfast a little though. Here are a few things she really liked.

Strawberries with yoghurt and a slice of toast.
Pancakes with raspberries, apples and yoghurt.
Crumpet with Jam, apple slices and yoghurt.
Scrambled egg on toast, yoghurt and grapes.

We go through breakfast 'jags' where he only eat the same thing all the time, then he gets bored, and wants something else. It usually lasts a couple of months.

At the moment, he's stuck on porridge (made with rice milk, with 2 tsps of ground flax seeds stirred in). Previously, it's been honey on wholemeal toast, Weetabix (made the same as honey), jam on toast. Never fruit, and very rarely anything cooked, as he doesn't like to eat all that much in the morning - and I am so not a morning person so a hot hob would not be a good idea :D

He has a piece of fruit as a mid-morning snack, usually an apple he pinches from the fruit bowl, but often a pear or a banana.

I can't get my DD to eat anything in the morning... she just says NO NO NO.... I thought of trying scrabbled egg... but if she likes it can I give it to her like 5 times a week. or is that to much she is 18 months?

We are pretty boring here as well.  It used to be cheerios with milk and some fruits.  This lasted for about 3 mos.  Now it is yogurt (2-3 pots) and apple & banana mixture.  He's not big on drinking milk for breakfast but I figured that the yogurt is good.  Then when we go for our walk after breakfast, I give him shreddies or cheerios or whole wheat crackers for the grains portion.  To tell you the truth, I don't mind dd and ds eating the same thing for breakfast for weeks.  It saves me the hassle of making breakfast too complicated.  lol

If you are worried about peanut butter, you can try soy butter.  Or, I just discovered sun butter with sunflower seeds.  Yummy!
