DS uses normal glasses and mugs at home and has been for a long time, it is so up to the individual child and their capabilities but I have to say at a super active play group then having breakables, no matter what the age of the kids, is just asking for trouble. Someone is going to break a cup at some point and it could even be an older kid who does it. What is the reason for all this controlling? Surely the 7 month old is not using an open cup. Anyway, FWIW just flout the rules, who cares? Do you think they would really make a big deal about it? Also - I don't like the running around with food thing. For one thing its not proper manners and secondly its choking hazard, duh!
