extending naps with paci
« on: March 21, 2006, 01:27:10 am »
Our LO is 16weeks old and has always been a short napper. We just started extending them with the paci and its been working!!!!!!! But, she's never been good at the paci. So when we try to extend the nap we have to constantly put it back in or she wakes up. We tried waiting for a jolt, applying pressure and using pat/shh-none of these worked, only the paci has worked. Is it ok to use the paci in this way? Am I using the revised wake to sleep method correctly? And when do I stop extending her naps with the paci? Will the paci become a prop?

sorry i didn't explain myself regarding the revised wake to sleep. by revised i mean that i just wait for her to stir and stick the paci in. how do i know if she's sucking it to stay asleep?
