Traveling across times zones with ten month old twins
« on: March 07, 2014, 10:07:43 am »
I am flying for New York to London on Sunday on my own with our twin girls.
What do we do with our routine once we get there? London is five hours ahead of us here in the states. Also we are staying for a month....
Anyone had experience with this? Any suggestions at all?

I've done the opposite trip before - Canadian living in uk here!
I'm not sure what time of day your flights are, but what I do is go straight onto the new time. It will be hard the first few days because their bodies will think it's nap time but it's really bedtime. And you'll probably have to wake them up in the mornings at first. Make the difference between day and night really obvious. I find it takes about 1day to adjust for every day in the time difference.
Hope that helps!

A bit easier for us we are flying to estonia on wednesday to see my parents, they are 2 hours ahead when we went last time i just went with the new times and yes it took a few days to adjust, this time our routine is just getting a bit more settled so im not sure, but i reckon again we will just go with the flow, as we will be staying for 2 months
