playing while breastfeeding
« on: August 25, 2005, 17:45:38 pm »
my little one is now developing a habit of wanting to "talk" when she nurses, you would think after a 4 hour schedule whe would be ravenous and wouldn't want to chat and kick her feet around.  I even go as far as not looking at her so she can focus.  she is a very perceptive baby and its hard for her to concentrate I think.  Anyone else having this problem?  I alwyays wonder if she is getting enough after a session because she will latch on and latch off, this goes on for the whole nursing practically.  she will drink some then want to chat, its cute but annoying.  Help!

UH!!  Drives me crazy!!! It seems to be better now, but in that 6-8 month range, it seemed to be the worst.  I still have to rush in as she's waking from her nap and feed her while she's still groggy, in the dark.  Sometimes when she's really awake though, she seems satisfied just pulling my hair or sticking her fingers up my nose...

There is a really cute necklace you can get on eBay called a 'nursing necklace' that is actually to keep baby entertained while feeding.

I personally went to my local craft store and bought some beads and made one for myself and all my friends.  Haven't used it yet as ds is not yet 2 months and still 'get right down to business' on there.....lol.
