My son loved cheerios, crackers, and toast (cut in strips). We also used to buy the finger foods that are made by Gerber.
We waited until 1 year to introduce yogurt and cheese. Not sure what is recommended though.

Cheerios are a great starter, and I remember doing lots of toast and well-cooked pasta. Egg yolk is safe after 7 mo, so I'd coat bread in it and fry it up like french toast. Steamed veggie chunks and ripe fruit chunks make great finger foods once she's mastered those. If they're slippery, you can always coat them in dry baby cereal or crushed cheerios.
Guidelines vary, but most I've seen allow yogurt at 6 mo and cheese at 8 mo. Cottage cheese is an exception...it's okay at 7 mo, and large curd cottage cheese can be used as a finger food.

My LO's favorites have been Cheerios & Gerber Wagon Wheels & Puffs. As far as the yogurt goes, I started giving her Yo-Baby a month ago & she LOVES it! It's made with whole milk, but is fine for babies - however, I believe most pedi's advise waiting until 9 mos for dairy products.

I started giving my DD yoghurt when she was 7 months, she loves it. Now if she doesn't like the main course I can give her a yoghurt and know she will eat it.

My DD's favourite snack is cheese she loves it. She also loves her arrowroot biscuit. Soft fruit is a good one to start with as well.
As for Yoghurt i started at 6 months along with custard and have just started cheese.

I'm a BIG believer in no dairy until 9 months (12 months if family history of allergies). Also, be careful with Yo-Baby - TONS of sugar in there.
Other than Puffs and Cheerios at this age, have you tried small pieces of banana or other fruit (cooked pear slices, etc) and well cooked pasta - something like soft screws that she can pick up?
