I guess that makes sense...
She had silent reflux but she's been much better for a while now...she was never on meds. Is there anything I can do to make her comfortable? She's been awake since 6.30 but quiet till 7. What should I time her a time from? 7?

I'd take it from 7 if she's been quiet and relaxing.

Its unusual for a LO to outgrow silent reflux by this age - this could be a flare related to teething. Incline her mattress, hold her upright for 20min after eating, etc. I wonder if her slow eating may be related to the reflux though.

It's possible...she doesn't spit up anymore like she used to but it could still bother her couldn't it? I'll incline her mattress again and see I that helps her settle better at night. Is there anything else I can do?

I have asked for some people with experience of reflux to take a look at your thread and make some suggestions.

Silent reflux is the kind where the acid goes up her oesophagus and back down again - no spit up but twice the pain. It could definitely be bothering her.

Do you know if its anatomical reflux or if she's got an intolerance to milk protein? Does she have eczema or any other signs of allergies/intolerance?

Thanks for referring!

I'm assuming its anatomical cos she's been on neocate milk from birth. My son is MPI so she was prescribed neocate by ped from birth.

Ok I'll try that tomorrow. She was struggling this morning to stay awake. I thought it was cos she was actually awake from 6.30 but I should def start day from 7 since she was relaxed till then? Sorry to ask again I just want to be sure...

Well, that's how it was with DS and I can really only go on my experience and the knowledge I've gained from reading and so yes, I'd say go with 7am as WU.

I don't understand why she won't nap longer. She woke up after 40 minutes again- do I need to increase her 2nd A time too?

E 1pm
A 3 hr
S 2.15-2.55 needed a burp and then I couldn't resettle. Is she UT? She def not OS I was getting frustrated so left her chatting to herself.

Should i try a cn? There's no way she'll last till 7 and she cant do more than 2.5 hrs before bt- that would mean 5.30 pm bt!! What should I do? :((

Ok so she's gone back to sleep as I was posting last message for 5 mins and now back up. So was she UT or OT for this nap? Or is she just chronic short napper (she's always taken 30-40 min naps). I'm thinking I should just let her CIO cos nothing else is working for her!

I let her have a CN at 5 pm for 30 mins although it was a battle and she didn't sleep till 8!! I had to put my son to sleep so I left her grumbling then she CIO- she fell asleep in 3 mins! Maybe that's the way to go??!

Hugs hun, I know how frustrating this can be but Bec is right about not going with CIO especially if your lo has reflux. I did it with my girls and still regret it. J actually burst a blood vessel in her eye as she was so distraught from the reflux pain and being left alone.

I'm thinking the reflux isn't controlled here. E had silent reflux and it's very possible at this age to be having a flare up that's causing a lot of discomfort. I would highly recommend going to your Dr or Paed to got your lo looked at and possibly/hopefully get some effective medication to help control it. The right Meds make a world.of difference and I think that's what's going to help here.
