Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on starting my dd on solids when on a 4 hour EASY. Ellie is 19 weeks old and weighs around 14 1/2 to 15 pounds (she hasn't been weighed for a couple of weeks) and my health visitor said to start her on solids. I started last weekend with baby rice at 8am (after her bottle at 7am). I thought that this would be a good time of day as she would look interested while watching me have my cereal.
What is the best way to add solids to a 4 hour EASY? Should I keep to this time then introduce lunch at 12 -12.30 pm later and after that tea at 5.30pm whilst keeping milk feeds as they are now? I ask because the other mums that I know have been introducing solids just before or during their normal milk feeds as the babies are hungry then and more likely to take it. I thought at this age though it's just to get them used to diffrent tastes and textures so you don't want to do it before milk as may stop them drinking as much? Am I correct?
Her 4 hour easy is as follows (on a good day!)
E 7am
A
S 8.30am 1 1/2 - 2 hour nap
E 11am
A
S 12.30/1pm 1 1/2 - 2 hour nap
E 3pm
A
S 45 min nap between 4.30 and 5.30pm
A 5.30-6.30 play, nappy off time and bath
E 6.30 bedtime bottle
A Book and lullaby (takes 5 minutes total)
S 7.00 bedtime
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Yota
