Daylight Savings Time
« on: March 24, 2006, 08:35:32 am »
This sunday the clocks spring forward and I just wanted to share what we thought we would do to help DD adjust so anyone can tell me if it seems to make sense or has a better idea.

1am sunday morning will become 2am so that means she will loose an hour of sleep overnight.
she is 7 months old and she normally wakes at 7am so I figured that we could wake her at 7.30am instead, allowing her to loose only 30 mins overnight, we can easily make that up over the day and still get her to sleep normal time I hope.
then I guess we repeat the same thing monday morning and hopefully by tuesday she will be happy with it and can make up any hours she has lost with a little extra in her naps.

does this make sense?  do you think it will work?  anyone have any better ideas?  ???
thanks

hi,

typically, i enjoy the one morning i get to sleep in!   ;D

seriously, though, if normal wake up time is 7, i would probably let her sleep till 8, have naps at 10 (1.5hr) and 2 (2hr) and go down at normal 8pm bedtime (this is based off of my kids routines, of course!)

this time change is much easier to adjust to overall, though - thank goodness!  what you ahve described sounds fine.   :D
