3.5 year old crying in sleep
« on: March 16, 2015, 21:22:34 pm »
Hi my daughter is 4 in July & a week ago started crying in her sleep, some nights are just a few wimpers, others nights really crying. I go up but its like she's still asleep she doesn't acknowledge me there & eventually stops crying & can tell by her breathing she's fast asleep. Its always around 9pm. She's also briefly waking in the night every night since then too & waking about 30 mins earlier than normal. I'm guessing it could be some kind of development leap?
Has anyone else experienced it?x

We had some weird sleep around this age and challenging behavior as well! This would be my DS I am talking about. I believe there is some truth in the "half year nonsense" and chaos that comes around this time. I would try to be as consistent as possible and ride it out. Does she still nap? DS did and the nap dropping caused some blips in sleep.

We've been through this as well, and I think it is just developmental stuff. Perhaps bad dreams or feeling a bit restless? Anyway, we would always go to them and give some sort of reassurance even though they were asleep, and as a phase it didn't last particularly long.
