Toddler teeth -no more raisins
« on: January 20, 2008, 21:52:41 pm »
We have just come back from the dentist and I thought I might share what we learned at this first visit (Adam, 2 1/2, refused to open his mouth at all!). The dentist said to avoid raisins as snacks and that they are a very big contributor to early tooth decay and this was a real surprise to me. And to stick to savoury snacks or fruit (no dried fruit), keeping any juice or biscuits to meal times only. We have managed to stick to it for one day so far...

Thank you very much for the information. Ella LOVES raisins and craisins. I always thought these were better choices than other nutritionally void snacks.  :o Gotta find some new options.  :'(
