Talking in her sleep
« on: April 07, 2014, 22:38:57 pm »
I think E is really OT at the moment, possibly connected with teething those last molars, but not sure. She has been working towards dropping her nap, but not everyday.

We had a busy weekend and she stirred a lot before midnight last night, and then woke early this morning for nearly an hour and a half from 4.45.

when she stirs she often talks quite loudly, last night she kept saying "no more, no more". Is she having nightmares? Is it just OT/teething? Should I be doing anything?

I don't really have any advice as we are also nap dropping and getting some NWs and I'm not sure if I should be changing things either.  But I do think bad dreams are coming into play - maybe the age and more active imaginations?  C told me at one NW that she had a bad dream, which really surprised me as I didn't even know she understands what a dream is!  But she said it was about dragons, and also one morning she got up and told me she had a nice dream about flowers!  Lots going on in their heads I think.  You have my sympathy but no practical help, sorry  :P x

Thanks hon, I thought it probably is a normal thing but it can be quite scary for us when she screams out so loudly. Has C still not had a nap recently?

I had wondered about nightmares, she keeps saying she can see a scary witch in the corner.

I don't think you need to do anything if she's not upset/crying.

I see she's coming up to her half birthday so there could be dev stuff contributing too.  We often got wonky sleep/NWs coming up to these dev leaps with L.

Hey Naomi,

R was doing a similar thing not so long ago (as well as collecting things and having them in bed with her)

For us it passed. When R co in the mornings she wasn't upset but a loud 'no no no' and she would be awake then for the day. Sounds similar?
I didn't anything ( save for worry  ::)) but as it turned out there was nothing to worry about, it passed saw quick as it came.
