Today she only napped about an hour at daycare.
WU 6.30
Nap 13.35-14.30
BT 19.45

Did I miss her window? It's 20.15 and she's talking to herself in bed.

She napped Monday and Tuesday, but will be home with me tomorrow. Should I offer a nap at all? She's just been refusing at home. I could run an errand during nap time and see if she falls asleep in the car.

I think that might be right, hopefully that will work for a good while.

I would really try to skip the nap today, I really don't think it is helping. Maybe an 8:30/9:00 bedtime on nap days? That way she won't go down ut and just goof around?

So no thinking about A times?  And on the days she does nap do I have different BTs depending on if she naps 45 or 90 mins?

Personally I would keep to a consistent nap length but that's just me.  Given her propensity for EW and the fact that she almost does 11 hr consistently without a nap, I'd keep it to 45 or a car nap.  But I agree with Heidi to do a later bedtime on nap days.  I have a friend who has a 3 yo who is still napping really well at daycare because she's programmed that way...but she isn't going to bed until 9 or 10 at night and it's killing them.  But the daycare provider does not want to lose the nap and claims she still needs it because she is still napping (some kids are just good sleepers and will still nap if you put them down!)  On weekends she does not nap with them but will occasionally fall asleep in the car in the afternoon.  But they do an earlier bedtime on weekends as she's often falling apart by 7 p.m.

The tweaking never stops!

She didn't nap. With a 6.30 WU and only a 10 hr night behind her, I wasn't sure she could do a 13-hr day but I put her down at 19.10 and she fell asleep at 19.20. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good night!

Fx! Yeah DD3 is one of those sleepers...she will nap really well but it totally robs from her night sleep and creates a vicious cycle. As much as it does my head in to have to be on the go 12 hours a day with a busy toddler on only on short nap I prefer that to a 5:30/6:00 wake up!

Thursday
WU 6.45
Nap at daycare 13.00-14.10
BT 20.20, asleep 20.40
NW crying at 5.00
WU 6.20

I don't know why she has NWs after she has napped unless I'm putting her to bed too late after all.

I think the nap is hurting her sleep drive.  However, the EW (5 is not a NW) could be from anything.  If it becomes a pattern, I would say with more confidence it's the nap.  But I don't think you can look at each day and make a determination.  I think it has to be over a few weeks and see what her overall pattern and sleep timings are.

She's been sleeping much better and waking up 6.30-7.00 am.

When she naps at daycare she sometimes sleeps 60 mins and sometimes up to 90 mins, so I can't control that, but she seems to want to fall asleep around the same time at night both after short or long naps. Do you think I should just keep her BT to about the same time on a nap day? I've been assuming she needs to go to bed a little earlier after a 45-60 minute nap than after a 90-minute one.

Thanks..

We keep the same bedtime here no matter what happened for a nap, because DD just seems to work well like that!
