Grobag Question
« on: November 23, 2005, 22:46:01 pm »
We have just recently weaned Molly off the swaddle. Yippppeeeeee!!
   8)   8)   8)

Now though, it is getting colder here in Canada and I don't know what to do about blankets!! Last night she had her head up in the corner of the crib with her fleece blanket over top of it!! She likes the fleece against her cheek so I think she was trying to comfort herself but I just about freaked out!

I am going tomorrow to buy a grobag or baby sleeping bag but DH had a good question...will she be able to roll around with that on?? Will she be able to scoot around the crib? Now that we have taken away the swaddle we don't want to restrict her movement again...

Michelle, my ds WALKS around the room wearing his sleeping bag!! (more of a shuffle really! :) )
He is a fidget in bed too, and he's never been restricted in movement.

Just make sure you get one that has a lot of growing room.  We bought a 'cheap' one once, as a spare, and it was quite tight around him and ended up getting twisted when he rolled over.

Mine rolls, wiggles and slides down her reflux wedge in hers.  I inherited two of the carter's version and liked them so much I got several more at the used baby place.  So far we just use that and a onsie and put a light blanket over her.  She kicks it off on a regular basis, just like Daddy.

Grobag Question

Hmmm...I love using the grobag but you really need at least two which is quite costly. I only have one and it's a bit of a hassle. I'm just lucky I have a dryer.

As for movement, my dd can move around in the cot and roll but she can't stand up, which is great!

If Molly likes the fleece against her face, I think she should be old enough to have a nice fleecy lovey (like a small blankie or a polar fleece toy of some sort). Do check that though, I could be wrong!

Grobag Question

Thanks guys...as soon as Molly wakes we are off to the baby store for a Grobag (or the Candian equivalent).

I have introduced a lovey, it's called a Banky and it just a stuffie and a blanket. It is very soft and has fleece and satin and she loves it!! She rubs it on her cheek. Too cute.

Thanks again for the info!!
