Title: cant upload picture....not sure if glitch, but still need help. :)

I cant seem to get my pictures uploaded.  i can click browse and choose the picture, but it doestn appear after i am done??  Am i doing something wrong?

Same thing happened to me, but after tweaking with resizing and making the image smaller it worked...  HTH

Yes, may be too large, make sure you observe the limitations in pixel size.

OK, I've tried reducing the pixel size and hosting it online and neither one works.  I now have no avatar.  :(   ???

ETA: and the
 signs are showing in my sig when I never touched that section.  I can fix the sig though.   ;D

I can resize it fine, it's on my hard drive, but it won't upload.  Usually if I can't upload it I can host it somewhere and link to it.  That's what I do with our local playgroup's board.

...and now all the options to change my avatar are gone from my profile link  :(

okay, i tried to resize the picture, but it still isnt showing up.  any other suggestions??  When i first became a member with BW, i had a picture on it, but then one day i logged in and the picture was gone, and now i havent been able to get any pictures on it at all.

OK all set ladies :)

If those were the actual files you were trying to use then it was a size issue.  It has to be Max 165pixels High, and 120 pixels wide.  So, in your case Ami, your avatar needed the dimensions of 120wide and 90high ;D

So noted.  Is it odd that size had never been an issue before?  I thought they were sized down when we uploaded them, or at least I never saw a size requirement.  :(  I'm just thinking too much now though.   :D

Lol.. no you are not thinking too much.
The feature that resizes avatars automatically for us is temporarily out of action. It will be back soon when we go back to our own super duper server xxx

Thanks for your help...I fixed my pic by reading all these posts....just an added note to people trying to do this....

Your computer might not be able to save it at exactly 165x120....Example....I tried to save my pic at 165x120 and when I typed in the 165 height, the width automatically went to over 120(which at first,I didnt realize it was doing), so I manually had to type in different numbers to get BOTH  the height AND width to below the required 165x120.....so in my case I had to resize to 125h  x 120w....does this make sense?? Dont mean to confuse anyone...I am just sooo happy it finally worked after sooo m any tries!!! yay   ;D

I am soo dumb, I don't even know how to resize....can anyone help me?  Is it hard to do a little slide show?  Some people have this, and I think it is wonderful....

I resized my photo to 165 x 110 and it still would not upload.   ??? ??? ???

For the previous poster, I downloaded a picture resizer from the web.  It is called pixresizer I believe.  I just did a google search and found it.  It is easy to use and it has worked in the past to resize photos for avatars and just for posting in the photo gallery.  Good luck!

If you can attach the photo to your post by using the ADDITIONAL OPTIONS at the bottom of the screen, I can try and resize it for you  ;D

i see others are having the same probs as me, i also used to have an avatar and then one day i didnt!! helen resized my avatar so i know thats not the prob, i deleted temp files too and that didnt work????

I am also having problems changing my picture. I did resize, making sure it was no bigger than 120 pixels in either direction and it still won't upload. Help!

Unfortunately your pic was still too big xxx It needs to be no more than 120 pixels wide and 160 high.. yours was a bit too wide xxx
