Baby has started waking up more than once a night
« on: February 19, 2006, 08:44:52 am »
Hello sleepy mams.
My gorgeous, spirited 12 week old lo was sleeping through to 5am following 10/10:30 DF but has recently started waking at 1am.  Have tried a paci (no luck), PUPD just disrupts her and she doesn't respond to Pat Shush.  Her naps only last an hour during the day but she is on a 3hr EASY routine and settles well at 7pm.  I don't understand what's going on.

Can anyone help?

growth spurt??  they usually have one at 12 weeks.

if you are breastfeeding you might want to nurse more often to up your supply; if you are bottle feeding try increasing the amount of each bottle.

Thanks for your reply.

Will try to ride it out.  How long should a growth spurt last?  I'm worried that lo gets into the habit of being fed at 1am.

they can last anywhere between 3 days & 2 weeks.

a spirited lo may be distracted by the patting of pat/shh; they seem to respond very well to white noise.  maybe do that & place a hand gently on her?
