7.5 month old not eating solids
« on: June 28, 2006, 07:20:35 am »
My son is now 7.5 months old  and he was 3.5 kg's at birth and now weighs 8.4kgs.We started on solids at 4.5 months (advice of paed for reflux).  He did really well for 1 month, he went to 3 meals a day + 4 bottles  of 250ml (I think that is 9 oz) a day.  Then he started to teethe and stopped eating, but he still has his milk.  We left it as until 6 months milk is adequate, this is what the paed said.  He is still not eating, if you try and give him food he gags and spits it out and cries.  He will eat his baby biscuits and that is about it.  His teeth are now through, 2 at once...  How can I get him back to eating???  He has also stopped all reflux medication about 1 month ago and is doing really well being off it, still no signs of the reflux being back...

His daily routins is like this

06h45   wake up
07h00   bottle (250mls)
08h00   breakfast (try 2 table sppons of cereal) normally has maybe 1 tsp if we are lucky
08h30   Activity and Bath
09h00   Nap30 minutes
09h30   Activity
11h00  bottle (250mls, this one takes 1 hour to feed)
12h00  biscuit
13h00  Nap 1 hour
15h00  bottle (250 mls)
16h30  Dinner try fruit, jelly, veg anything really!  Only 1-2 spoons
18h00  Bath
19h00  Bottle  (150mls)
20h00  Bed
22h00  Dream feed (100mls)
Sleeps through to morning.

Any ideas?  I have tried finger foods, semi-solid, total puree everything and he will not eat!!! He is starting to sit alone, he seems to be a late bloomer.  Paed is not worried about this at all as he says little boys just like to be cuddled and hwhen they sit the cuddling stops...  teehee!!
