i started introducing cow's milk to dd, but she just won't drink it from a cup although she drinks everything else...apparently she doesn't like the smell because everytime the cup comes near, she shakes her head, but she will drink it in a bottle...i've only given her an ounce per day so far, but how do i transition to cup?
thanx

DS will drink his juice and water out of a cup, but refuses point blank to drink his milk out of a cup.
You are not alone. We just try offering it to him on a regular basis.

Totally agree with pp just keep offering it at regually times of day that you want her to have her milk she will get the hang of it soon.
-
lara's mum - mine didn't drink it either in the beginning and it took quite a while. I tried using different sippy cups for milk so that they would be different than the ones she drank water out of. it seemed to help. good luck

Calum is the same, will not drink milk from a sippy and I have even tried introducing different coloured sippys for water/juice and milk. ::)
Not sure if you have seen it, but here is the BW to transition to a cup; https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=55022.0 - the key is persistance.

lauren...thank-u for the link..very useful, but does that mean we don't have to get them used to a sippy...lara drinks straight out of a cup, not lidded and she's fine with it...do i just add the handles and give it to her...she also drinks from a straw, considering its a wide straw, not to narrow...is that ok?
thank-u

I would say a normal cup is fine, so is a straw. DS loves drinking out of a straw - he gets really excited.

Why shouldn't they drink milk from a bottle, mine do, but drink water from a cup and I am ok with that. Is there any reason why I should encourage a cup, as I know that Alex wouldn't have her 16-18 ounces per day if I did.

That is amazing! how did you manage that one? You definitinelty need to share ;) :P
Going to a sippy now would be backtracking, so I wouldn't do it. Keep perservering with small amounts of milk in the cup.
How manmy bottles do you offer in a day?
-
actually...not too amazing a story...i just started with a regular cup instead of a sippy and she seemed fine....we offer three bottles per day and are slowly transitioning to cows milk..and several drinks of water and juice in a cup
