5 month old waking up
« on: April 27, 2007, 19:32:39 pm »
My daughter is 5 months old and she was sleeping really good (like 8 hrs a night) and the past few nights she has been getting up at 12, 2, 4 and 6.  we try to get her to go back to sleep, but when we pick her up she cries more and the only way i can get her back to sleep is to feed her.  she is eating good during the day too.  i cant believe that she would be that hungry during the night.  could it be a growth spurt?  should i try to get her back to sleep without feeding her?  Thanks
April

It could be a growth spurt, especially if she is nearing 6 months.  I would try to soothe her without feeding as you may find you end up with a feed/sleep association.  Do you feed her to sleep at night and for naps?

What have you tried to soothe her before feeding?
