Title: BIG MISTAKE!!!!
Post by: Leosmom on October 15, 2005, 23:44:48 pm
I accidently fed my 6weekold DS an old bottle of formula!!  I grabbed the wrong one that had formula that was about 12 hours old...it was only about 1oz, but I'm totally freaked out.  What should I do???????

Don't panic, first!   Okay....does he have an upset tummy now?  He will probably be just fine, just keep a real close eye on him(like you woouldn't anyway   ).  He may not even have any complications if you "followed up" with good formula.....kinda like a whole lot of good negates a little bad.  Let me know!!!

well, I fed it to him about 10 hours ago and he's totally crying now, although he has been pretty much sleepy all day and seemingly fine.  I'm not sure why he's so upset now and I keep thinking it's because of the old formula.  ugh.  Thanks for the reply!

If I remember correctly, you can use formula that's already made up (and been refrigerated) for 24 hours or so.  I make my ds's bottles the evening before for the next day, and refrigerate them all, and then heat them up at mealtimes throughout the day.

So, I don't think there is anything wrong with using a 12 hour old bottle of formula!

Did you mean un-refridgerated formula, Leosmom?

How is he doing today?
