NEED HELP WITH MORNING FEED
« on: January 03, 2007, 23:57:27 pm »
10 wk old, 13.5 lbs, taking 5-6 oz of formula at a time.  He is only waking one time during night around 3:30/4:00.  He drinks approx. 6 oz. at this time.  I get him out of his crib at 7:30 in the AM(he's always awake, but I'm not sure how long he has been up b/c he does not cry).  I always try to get him to eat at this time (7:30), but he's not ready.  He'll either refuse all together or just take 2 oz.  He will then need food about 1-2 hrs later, which will then throw off the whole day (I try for a 3-3 1/2 hour EASY schedule).  ANY IDEAS?

Hi there! Welcome to BW!!

Maybe he's getting too much at the 4am feed. Have you tried giving him a smaller amount to see how he does?

I have tried giving him less formula, but he cries until his belly is full, and won't settle back in his crib.  So I give him as much as he takes.

Last night I made the DF earlier (9:30) and he got up at 2:30 AM for his night feed.  This made him ready for a 7:45 feed of 4 ounces.  I really want him to sleep through the night and would love to make the DF later to see what happens.
