3 to 4 hour routine confusion.
« on: April 24, 2006, 17:48:10 pm »
I have a question regarding the schedule in the book which shows how to go from 3 hour routine to 4 hours.  In the second column it says Nap 12:15pm (1.25hrs) then eat at 1:15pm.  Which one am I suppose to go by, the 1.25hrs or from 12:15pm to 1:15pm which is only an hour.  The same is for the 2:45pm nap it says (2hrs) but then it says to feed at 4:15pm which is only an hour and a half.  I am confused.

Hello, sorry, I'm probably being thick, but I've had a scan through both books, and I can't tell which column you mean - can you please post which book (Secrets of the BW or BWSAYP?), and the page, please?
Caroline :)

Sorry about that.

In the BWSAYP page 230, those columns.  Thanks for taking the time.  :)

Erm, <ahem, cough cough> I think you might be right. I can't work that out either :-[ :-[.

Can anyone else shed some light on this? I've included a picture of the columns for if people don't have the book, and will ask my fellow mods what they think.

HI there,

There has always been some confusion regarding these columns.  I know it's been posted about several times.  I will try and have a look around the site today and see what I can find.

I think that Tracy always intended for this to be a guideline...something to give you an idea...but ultimately it shouldn't be too rigid by the clock.   I found it easiest to get the sleep in place and fit it the feeds as best I could during this transition.  If some are 3.5 hours then don't sweat it too much!

The link should help.

Thank you guys.  I really wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong with picking one way or the other.  Thanks again for really looking into that for me!   :D
