My dd is 6 mths old...and i am wondering where tomatoes come into the equation??  I would think they would be an allergen...

Can you feed your lo pasta sauce...when??  Also, I notice (while i haven't fed or used them) that some of the jarred food (vegetables and pasta) have tomato paste in them and are in the 6 mth age group...

Someone set me straight....

Not sure where you are, but here in the US there are no particular cautions about tomatoes. The main thing is that they are quite acidic, and can cause heartburn even in non-reflux babies. If you decide to try them go with a little bit at a time.

Hi there
we have been recommended to avoid numerous things due to potential allergies but tomatoes are not one of them- and dd loves them! I agree with Jessica about the acidity- I mix them with some mashed potatoes and they go down a treat  ;D

My 7mo tried spag bol in nursery last week - absolutely LOVED it - just a shame it didn't love him two hours later!!!!
