Switch to 4 hour EASY
« on: March 01, 2007, 03:21:22 am »
When did you start the switch to 4 hour EASY?  I am thinking my DD will need to slowly transisition.  When this happens do I still keep the 1st and last bottle times constant.  For example:

7 am - wake /feed
11 am should be next feed but only make it 3 1/2 hours to 10:30
Then next 3 1/2 hour feed is 2:00 & 5:30pm
Do I then feed her at 7:00 to keep bedtime constant even though it has only been 1 1/2 hours since the 5:30pm feed and she will not be very hungry?

Sorry so confusing - but I am confused!

I agree age makes a difference. How old is the LO? I'm going to move this over to the EASY forum though as I think you'll get more advice there ok  :)

What sort of routine are you following now - 3 hour or 3.5 hour?

If you think your lo can handle the 4 hour routine and not become overtired, then it would be worthwhile trying, however most babies of this age are usually on a 3.5 hour routine.

If she cannot make a 4 hour feed wise, then stick to a 3.5 hour for now, and she will let you know when she is ready to start extending her times.

Following the 3.5 hour Easy you could still feed at 5;30 and then again at say 7:30 - this is then considered as a clusterfeed to help your lo tank up.

Hope this helps
