I've always struggled to get my DS to BF much during the day - he's far too interested in the world around to spend time feeding. But since introducing solids his interest has waned even more. I'm a little concerned that he's not getting enough milk. His routine looks like this:
6.30 - 7 - BF
8 - cereal with fruit - prob gets 2 oz of formula with cereal
9.15 - Nap for 1 1/2 hours
11.15 - at most 2 or 3 oz of formula but is still obviously hungry
11.30 - solids -
1.30 - snack of fruit and maybe a bit more formula
2pm - nap of 1 1/2 to 2 hours
4pm - BF - takes very little
4.45 - solids - usually veg and rice - gets 2oz of formula here
6.30 - BF
10.30 - am still doing dream feed cos he's not sleeping through (never has)
He usually wakes once at night for a feed.
At his recent 7 month check his weight has slipped a centile. But he's very happy and active and really enjoys the solids.
Does this all sound OK? Or do I need to cut back on the solids to try and get him to BF more? My instinct is that he's fine, but would like other opinions.
Thanks in advance.
