Hi Everyone,
I jumped on to the end of thread #2 right before I went away for two weeks. We're back now, and back into our routine.
Hannah is 10 mos old, (born Jan 3rd). I'm Joanne, (28) married to DH Benjamin for 4 years. We live in Charlotte, NC, but are trying to relocate to Washington state. Our house in on the market, but hasn't sold yet.
I have spent the past week reading the 22 pages of thread #3 and have some thoughts to share with you all, so here goes
Julieb - Back to the shoe thing......Both Burlington Coat Factory and Target have Robeez-like suede shoes for $12.99 (they are $9.99 at BCF). Different designs for boys and girls in a variety of sizes. They are in the aisle with the booties, socks, etc. Also, Marshall's has Robeez for $12.99 too, limited sizes and colors though.
Kiwi - Crystal was born on Jan 2 - Hannah was born Jan 3rd. How cool!!
Leah's Mom - ...for the treasure box........a turkey baster, toothbrush, and an old phone or remote, these are all Hannah's favorites.
branwen - I am doing the potty training with Hannah and it's going well BUT I have been doing the potty thing with her since she has been 2.5 mos. After I nurse her in the am and after a nap, I sit her on the pot, and she pees within about 2 min, often less. She almost always poops right after eating solids. As soon as I hear her toot pick her up and say " I think you need to go poo-poo, lets go sit on the toliet". Sometimes she wants a toy or book and other times she will just sit there and do her business
It's amazing that they can learn at an early age BUT when they are so little they pee almost every 15 min so you are constanty taking them pee. With the next baby I'll start at 9 mos, instead of so early. Anyway, JMTCW. Everyone has to do what works best for their family.
Us:
Naps are actually Ok right now. 1.5 hrs in the am and 1.5 in the pm. It's night time that is rough. Hannah has started waking up twice in the night now, random times. She has been doing it for awhile now, also while on our trip. I REALLY want to get her back to sleeping from 7-7, which she was doing from 3 mos. on! I have to admit that I have been nursing her when she wakes up in the night, which I'm sure is a BIG no-no. I suppose I'll have to stop that.......any thoughts on the night waking? I don't know that it's hunger since she eats 3 8oz meals a day plus BM, so I'm kind of stumped, maybe she just needs more?
Well I should go now and get things done while she naps. Hugs to all
Joanne
