Do your LO's sometimes not eat !!!
« on: December 12, 2007, 16:44:13 pm »
It is driving me crazy, sometimes my DD won't eat at all for the whole day.  Today for example she only had a slice of toast and about 300ml of milk the whole day.  Would not eat anything else.(not sure if it is maybe teething, although this happens from time to time).  But yesterday she ate for 2 tods, eating everything I gave her as well as my and DH's food, and even helped herself with crackers in the cupboard   LOL  ;D and had about 600ml of milk as well-do your LO's also do that too?

It doesn't seem to affect her and she doesn't have any NW (touch wood).  Just wanted to know if this is normal  :) :)

YES!! My 23 month goes off food regularly. I know it's annoying - especially if you've prepared something - but I think the best thing to do is go with it. You can't force a child to eat. My fella has never been a huge eater so I've come to the conclusion that he eats what he needs and no more. If only I could learn by his example!! He's just had a few days of teething pain and he hardly ate anything so maybe your LO is getting some teeth?

yes yes yes....

some days ds eats hardly anything, next he eats like a horse!  But I reckon as long as there aren't NW for food and they're peeing and pooing OK there's not much to worry about.

Very normal at our house. Riley seems to have a couple of not-so-hungry days followed by a couple of normal eating days with the odd pig out session thrown in for good measure.

There's absolutely no way to predict what sort of eating day it will be...very frustrating for those of us preparing meals!!!!

In the end as long as your little one has plenty of energy and generally looks well I wouldn't worry about it. Just another frustrating thing about raising a toddler!!!!!

Yup!!!!!!  Told me she was hungry, then said she did not want lunch.  Has not touched it and it's stuff she likes.

Elmarie - Jasmine seems to be on a hunger strike this week, lol. Just yesterday she went to nap without anything to eat before hand (breakfast was her last meal with some sultanas for snack). When she woke up I gave her toast with avacado.. cause she refused lunch & then we skipped snack so that she would eat diiner but she still didn't eat dinner & had a banana with milk for dinner so to speak. I don't know how she can live on breakfast, one toast & banana with milk all day but she does.... Isabella did this too. I offer food & if she's not eating I let her go off until the next mealtime (or snack) or until she shows me that she is hungry.
