You can do butter and jelly on pancakes as well. Sweet but also has other good things in, plus there is more choice, you can get low sugar, organic, etc. Although I'll be honest, I let DD have syrup...but she sometimes eats pancakes and waffles plain, too.

Today:-
B - 1 weetabix
S - not sure, in childcare
L - Tuna pie, yogurt
S - again not sure, but quite a lot from what i've been told!!
D - Tuna pie (again!!), yogurt

I had a couple of toddler ready meals left when I first joined this thread, but have not bought a SINGLE one since - everything Ollie has now is homemade, and I am VERY pleased with myself!! :)

Apple butter is really good on pancakes or the like too!

Well done Cath, it is good isn't it to know you are feeding good stuff - very satisfying.

Was reading some info from WHO and I am trying to give food with vit c with meals to help absorbs iron etc and also give more protein. I was looking at portions sizes too and maybe DS isn't that far off.

Today:
B: 1/4 Banana pancake, 3 strawberries, few sips banana smoothy.
L: Chicken and mushroom risotto with hidden veggies (pepper, onion etc) with extra roast chicken, 1/4 peanut butter wrap - spat some out, blackcurrent juice
S: few bites each - baguette, cheese, turkey ham, humous. 5 strawberries, 1/2 apricot - at park
D: More roast chicken, 3 tbs lentil/peas/bean bolognese, few mouthfuls rice, 1/3 peshwari nann, 1/4 apricot, few spoons yoghurt.

I am determined to feed him up and make sure he gets all the nutrients he needs.

Yes, it is very satisfying, and great for the finances too (which are severely lacking at the mo!!).

I really don't think your DS eats much less than mine - he seems to eat a better variety than mine too. Mine is better at lunch time than dinner, he always eats a good lunch but sometimes only a few mouthfuls of dinner.

Mine is best at dinner and worst at breakfast. Oh well maybe it is better that way as it helps him sleep thru.

I also think he eats a reasonable amount (and great variety) and wouldn't worry at all!

Still fighting this virus here - DS has been sick two weeks now. Thought it was improving until overnight Sat/Sun when the fever returned - turns out it has become a viral throat thing (thinking like coxsackie). No fever today but horribly tired/cranky. Woke 6:07, drank 4 ounces, wouldn't eat except a few spoonfuls yogurt and couple grapes and was napping already at 8.

Yesterday was:

B: 10-12 blueberries
L: half turkey patty with zucchini and carrots, some applesauce
D: chicken noodle soup, some raisin toast w cream cheese

If you are concerned about nutrients, you can add things to suppliment their diet. I add ground flax, wheat bran, and other things to stuff when I bake or cook so it is better for both my boys (DS and DH). I also replace half of the white flour in a recipe with whole wheat, no matter what it is.

Yesterday Nathan had...
B: chopped strawberries, cherrios, and grapes
S: blueberries, raspberries, and goldfish crackers
L: cheese bun (out grocery shopping)
S: carrots
D: gnochi bake with tomatoes, basil, peas, onions, garlic, and lots of zuchinni, and mozarella cheese on top

I got the recipe from Emma, who posted this link to the menu planning board:

http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7192/gnocchi-and-tomato-bake

I was out of bell pepper, so I added zuchinni instead. It was a very good meal, and we will definitely have it again.

S - Few raisins, carrot sticks
L - Tuna pie, yogurt
S - Few raisins, bread stick

Now, I know DS is gonna start looking like a tuna pie soon ;) but we are having a slight financial crisis so have to eat what's here until pay day!! Luckily, he loves it! :)
