Somersaulting in bed
« on: June 25, 2014, 09:24:32 am »
I feel silly asking this but I am just too curious to know...

You know how sitting up, standing up, walking, etc. were massive development phases and causes sleep regression? Just wondering if somersaulting is one to? DS (29 month old now) has been non stop somersaulting in his crib before sleeping and on wake up. His sleep is not the best but not the worst either so I am not too concerned... just the constant somersaulting!!

It is a great developmental movement.  It helps build the control of his neck muscles.  With enough repetitions, it will pass!!  :)

Not had that personally, but sounds as though it must be. As long as he is safe, I would leave him to it. Like all other develpmmetal phases as said by the previous poster, it will pass.

Quite a skill though don't you think  ;D

It is quite a skill indeed! Until he tried to show off to his grandma last weekend and nearly fell off the sofa :D Gave grandma the fright of her life... LOL! DH has not seen DS practising on the sofa yet. I can just imagine the disapproving look he is going to give me... DH is a bit of a safety freak :D

For safety, lay some exercise mats on the floor.  :)
