I would say no. Same with banana. It's a make it fresh kind of thing I would suggest. You could always put lemon juice on the rest if you only use half, not sure if your LO would eat the other half then but at least you could use it.

I've used frozen banana in cooking, but not just as a straight food. I wouldn't think it is "bad" per se, but for sure it would be better made fresh...can you use that in something? I like to blend things into pasta sauce, I used avocados last time.

The brown is just oxidization - when it is exposed to the air it starts to turn brown. You can squeeze a drop or two of lemon on it to prevent this from happening. No idea how freezing affects the taste and texture of avocado but in terms of food safety it is not affected just by having turned brown. As long as it was frozen before it went off, then it is still fine iyswim.

Like Mashi said, it's oxidation taking place. If you can just skim the brown part off, anything green underneath will be just fine. Like others have said, using lemon or lime juice on any unused portions PLUS putting it in saran wrap (plastic wrap) as close-fitting as it can be to the avocado will also help it from turning brown (less room for oxygen).
Enjoy (we LOOOOOOVE avocado here)!

I find it does best if you just remove from the skin, cut into half or quarters depending on LO's appetite.... I wrap each piece in plastic wrap tightly and then pop all of the portions into a freezer bag... remove one when I need it and microwave it for 30-45 seconds and mash... no brown bits and funny enough, it mashes smoother after having been frozen ;)

Thanks for that, Kara! I was told you can't freeze avocado but I don't see why you couldn't do it as long as it's not brown!
I do have luck if I know I'll use it the next day to wrap the other half with the pit tightly with some lemon juice and keep in the fridge.

You can totally freeze avocado :)
