Hi
My ds is 5 months and 1 week old - I breast feed 3 meals a day and give him formula for 2 meals(including dream feed)
 i started giving him rice cereal a week ago - the first 3 days it was once a day and the last 3 days it has been twice a day.
He has been constipated for the last two days.
I also gave him sweet potato today for the first time- in the afternoon for his dinner (before his bottle at 6:30)
My question is- am i mixing up too much for him? i mean BF and Formula and now Rice cereal and Sweet potato?? Is this why he is constipated and has green poops??
Im a little worried and would love as much advice as possible

rice cereal is very constipating for some LO's  , we had to switch to oatmeal .

Ditto on the rice.   We started solids a little early - and the rice was a MESS!   I threw it out!!!   I read somewhere that the P foods "move" a little better...prune, pear, peaches

When we started to wean - we also started DS on rice cereal, and this constipated him terribly. 

Definitely agree with the P foods.

Hi Nesh60

Do you mind if I ask your reasons for starting solids?  Breastfeed LO's get all they need up until 6months from breastmilk and there isn't normally a need to start solids early.

DS had a very unsettled night after having sweet potato, they are pretty starchy - how are you cooking them?
