first of all this may be in the wrong spot so feel free to move...was going to pop in hobbies but didn't really seem to be a spot for it........ :-\

Anyhoo, back to business!!! ;)

We're going camping this weekend..in a tourist park, so not going bush. Our LO is  5 months and a bit! and DH is a little worried. We are going for 2 nights and I have said lets take it as it comes and if the first night is really bad, we'll go home the next day......One of the things he is worried about is that she will get woken up, either by us moving around, or noises from the camp.
We are regular campers and have a trailer tent, so a bit more robust than a dome tent, but hey this is a new experience for us and our LO

Any words of encouragement/tips/advice would be appreciated.

Hey thanks for that rachel.........really handy info! Can I ask what's a Pack and Play and an exersaucer? ? just curious. Liked the tip about white noise that was something I was thinking about but didn't want her to get into the habit of going to sleep on it agina ,but I guess 2 nights won't hurt!

Hi Anna!

Campers here!!! and camper trailers too boot too.  what i find, even now with camping.

* she will wake at night in the portacot, see us and say hello.  so, you will get a nw - this is due to the overstimulation excitment with camping
* she will have a short nap - it's hot in there!!!! and too much to do!
* she will need to go back to bed early.
* she will wake at the crack - i mean, it's light out there!

now, all this sounds like hard work why bother? becuase it's sooooo much fun! and they love it... it's outside in the great Aussie sunshine!!

just my two cents. your attitude is great. take it as it comes... still try and stick to your routine, but be flexible with the OS and OT>  oh, and have a nap yourself cause you get tired!
