Title: eats only for 5 minutes when wakes at night???
Post by: Nee on June 27, 2006, 01:43:53 am
Hello My LO wakes once at 2 am and then again at 5:30,  I BF her and she only eats for 5 minutes and then falls asleep.  I tried to use the paci once however she woke up half hour later and I feed her and again she only ate 5 minutes.  any suggestions?

Maybe it's a comfort thing.

Does she wake at the same time (approx) every night?  If so, it could be habit.

Could you post her routine please to see if there's anything we can suggest?

Not sure how old your lo is - she's really cute anyway!!!

Would it be possible (depending on her age) to try and stretch her to three hour EASY during the day?  The only thing I've noticed is that she does have quite afew naps, with two hour long naps in the four hours before she goes to bed - could it be that she's maybe not tired enough to sleep long periods at night?  I'm not sure how this is solved - perhaps trying to extend her A time at 5.30 and then bringing her bath/bedtime forward say 15 mins?

Believe me I'm no expert (its all trial and error this, isn't it?!) but my lo is 4 mo and if he sleeps too late in the day he doesn't settle so well at night.
There's also a lot of good advice on the Sleep/Night waking boards!

Good Luck!
