Title: Has my baby got cmpi? Giving up dairy isn't working
Post by: Yeknomyeknom on February 20, 2013, 21:09:23 pm
Hi, my 3 mth old has been showing signs similar to mspi since a month old - wind, grunting, very runny poo/diohrea, mucus in all nappies, drop from 50th to 25th centile.  The paedeatriciam had me give up dairy and soy just in case.  I have been off dairy in all it's forms (including hidden ones) for 3wks and off soy for 2 weeks.  The problem is, since doing this I have noticed no difference.  None at all.  The dairy should have left my system by now surely?  Does this mean its not mspi?

Hi there,
Hugs on your LO being poorly.
I would have thought you would have seen some improvement with going dairy and soy free. However, some LOs are by sensitive to mums milk and allergic or intolerant to things like eggs, nuts, wheat/gluten ;)

You could try a total ED, or do a trial of something like neocate while you pump to see if you notice improvement.
Here is some more MSPI info
