does this sound about right?!
« on: August 24, 2006, 07:25:43 am »
Hello
i've just foundthis site & have found it really helpful so far. I'm the sort of person who needs a routine so the BW way suits me down to teh ground.
mY DD is 7wks (but was a week early) this is how our dasy seemt o be going at the moment.
7am fullBF
8.30 ish sleep  45 mins
9.30 full BF
11 - 11.30- sleep 2 hours or so
1.30 full BF
3- 3.30 Sleep   45 mins
4.30 full BF
6or so - bath , change, into grobag, BF abnd bed.

sometimes she seetles straight off, sometimes wakes after an hour so I feed her again ( in teh hope she will tehn sleep longer). wake around midnight - full bf, tehn again in teh earky hours - today & yesterday it was 4.30/5 - I give her just 1 side ti tide her through until 7am. she takes awhile to settel at night - very windy at both ends.
howvere I also ahve a 3 yr old so maintaining this routinw with imn is hard.today we need to go ut around 10 & I know DD will tehn fall asleep agin & throw teh whole day out.

my Q's are
does this sound like a reasonable routine bearing in mind we are on a very flexible EASY - from 2.5 - 4 hours!!
how do yo ucope when going out doen't fit into teh normal sleep times?
what do you do with waking so close to 7am......... I am now on my own all day with both of tehm having been awake since 5am as by teh time DD setlled it was 6.15 - tehn DS woke at 6.45!!!
looking forard to reading all your helpful advice!!

Welcome to BW!!

I think maybe you need to make her a routine a bit more stable. Having 2.5 hours and 4 in one day is too hectic for a 6 week old. Try more for 2.5 - 3 hours.

I try to schedule my outings during A time and do my best to be in the car during S time ;)

I think waking at 7 is a good time. Is she waking at 7 or earlier?
