Misprint in BWSAYP???
« on: March 09, 2007, 06:00:06 am »
Hi there. I was reading p. 230 in BWSAYP about transitioning to a 4 hr. EASY and there must be misprints, or my sleep deprived mind has won over whats left of my normally functioning brain.

Its the naps/duration/feeding times... is there a thread that explains this better???

THANX

I think there may have been a misprint.  It's discussed in this thread ...

Thanks for the link lizziebeth

Monika - having problems deciphering the nap times for the shift listed in the book:

DAYS 4-7

E 7, S 8:45 (1.5 hrs), E 10:15, S 12:15 (1.25 hrs), E 1:15, S 2:45 (2 hrs), E 4:15, S catnap (30-45 min.), E 7:15, S 7:40, E 11 (DF)

DAYS 8-11

E 7, S 9 (1.5 hrs), E 10:30, S 12:30 (1.75 hrs.), E 1:45, S 3 (2hrs), E 4:30, S NO CATNAP, E by 6:30 or 7 & S by 7, E 11 (DF)

Notice afternoon nap times/conflicts. Misprints are a fact of life. I am a former editor for a major publishing company and it was amazing how many edits/proofs were made and misprints still always happened... Anyway, I am on DAY 4 so I am just going to go with the advice listed on the thread above & extend the first awake period.

Jenpbar,

Oh my goodness your lo is so adorable. NR to the post topic, but how do you get your swaddle to stay so perfect? At the end of a nap ours is all over the place. Do you use the Miracle Blanket?

Actually that is a thin receiving blanket swaddled OVER the Swaddle Me. We have since gotten the Miracle Blanket though and LOVE it.

so, how are you doing?
I know the times in the book look kind of funny that is why we have not followed the transition guidelines and went more or less cold turkey from 3 to 4 hrs EASY.

We are on day 5 now and its going fine. morning nap is great I guess from the longer A. I might speed things up a bit and skip a few days here & there bc I think she is really ready. I am too scared to go cold turkey
