short naps and keeping to EASY
« on: April 23, 2006, 14:12:56 pm »
I'm so confused!  Tracy has EASY laid out for 6-9 mos. in her books w/ a 1.5 to 2 hr. nap.  (pp. 96 & 38) But on p. 37 of SOLVES ALL YOUR PROBS, she says at 6-9 mos., they're taking 2 naps a day of 1-2 hrs.  Well, if Baby naps from 9-10, does she have to wait 'til 11 to bf to keep to EASY?  Tracy's confusing me! and so is my Dd!

She recommends:
7 milk
8:30 solids
9 or 9:30 nap (1.5 - 2 hrs.)
11 milk
12:30/1 solids
1:00/2:00 2nd nap (1.5 - 2 hrs.), ETC.

But won't a 1 hr. nap mess it all up?  Do they nurse after the nap or on the 4 hr. EASY?  EASY used to be easy before solids.  My DD followed EASY exactly.  Now she wants to nap before 9, she's playing in her crib before 7, naps for an hr. and 10 min., and the rest of the day is confusing.  My Dd won't seem to fit into a routine.  She's on EASY b/c she does things in that order, but she's not really on a 4 hr. EASY.

Do I get her to sleep longer than 1 hr. at naps or just "call it a nap?"

geez.

Then I found THIS on the naps board:
6 months old:
Night: 12 hours;
Day: 2.25 hours - 2 naps, 1 of 1 hour and 1 of 1.25 hours;
Total: 14.5 hours

How do you keep a 4 hr. EASY w/ short naps?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I totally needed to hear that too.  I have been struggling to get my daughter to follow some sort of schedule, especially now that we have introduced solids.  DD has been doing the exact same thing - I get her to bed at the right time, but then she wakes well before 7 some days, at 7 on others, and then takes short naps, and the day never recovers.  It was nice to hear that someone else out there is experiencing the same thing (I am NORMAL!!)   ;D  and that it is okay to be a little crazy in my day!

Thanks again,
Sarah
