It doesn't taste too bad to me with brown sugar on it but I can't get past the consistency.  Don't really care though as long as DS eats it!   ;)

Hi ladies, just thought I would mention DS loves Pierogi's. They are Ukrainian or Polish style dumplings/ravioli with potato and cheese filling. The Ukrainian or the Polish church sells them here, the old ladies make them and they are so well priced and it goes to their church, so that is nice. I love them with fried onions and sour cream.  We had some leftovers in our fridge from a couple nights ago and DS ate them for breakfast today, ::) :P ;D he just loves them.  Anyone else try them with their LO?  Fab.  The Polish church has started doing them in other fillings too, like cheese and broccoli or spinach and I love the sourkraut filled ones.  Supermarkets carry them as well, but make sure it is a good brand.  Costco have them now and then, they are pretty good.

Ps. FYI, I think the Ukranians call them Pettaheh (spelling? sorry)

Yes, you can get Weetabix in the States. I usually get it at Trader Joe's, but recently saw that Safeway has it too, but I think charges more for it. You can also get it at Irish or English import shops.

Oh, I am so jealous!  ;D :P  Lucky you.  Yes, lots of work involved in making them homemade.

I usually boil them and have the onion fried ahead of time in butter.  Then after I bring to the boil and leave them pretty al dente, I throw them in the bowl with the buttered onions and shake around a bit to get them coated and yummy.

LOL at the dough to filling ratio, I know exactly what you mean! LOL.

Too bad Kaleb, doesn't go for them,,, I am really going to start giving them as a breakfast meal now too, they are nice and hearty and good for when we have activities to go to in the morning, so my hungry bear doesn't turn into a grump.

We also love tortellini or ravioli, maybe Kaleb would like them better as they are not potato based.  We get meat or cheese or spinach filled.  I serve with a tomato, rose or pesto sauce.

God, why does this thread always get me so hungry!  :P ::)

Ladies, what do you think? Lily has started playing with her food, squashing it in her fingers, throwing it a bit, trying to eat her cereal with her fingers etc.  She hasn't done this since she was very young and just getting started with the whole food business.  Do I just ignore this as you would any other undesired phase, or is she now old enough to realise this is wrong and be told to eat nicely even remove it from in front of her to prevent her from it.  Trouble with it is she works herself up into a food frenzy and would if left unchecked chuck it everywhere  ::)

Chayse had a few strawberries and 2 scrambled eggs mixed with cheese this morning.
She had a frozen gogurt and some graham cracker before nap. She had a couple very small bites of some total cereal that I was eating when she first woke up.

This afternoon She had a few bites of some deli turkey and some bites of a bananna. She finally ended up having some bites of the Berber Chicken Corden Bleu breast DH and I had for supper. The the frozen ones but there pretty good and one of the better brands. The last time we had them...she wouldn't eat any.

I know this is grose...but she also had some frozen frenchfries. She was begging and whining for them as she has in the past.

Not too bad a day here

Breakfast - honey (always want to write 'hunny', drat that Pooh Bear) on brown toast / Innocent blackberry (?) and strawberry smoothy
Lunch - red salmon sandwich (more brown bread ::)) / ate a whole pear :D
After nap snack - asked for a 'biscuitman' (Gingerbread man), couldn't refuse
Dinner - Egg fritatta with peppers, tomatoes and cheese (we call it 'eggy pizza') / more bread & butter / handful black grapes
Before bed - a couple of drop cakes my mother's neighbour makes (small)
Caroline :)

caroline is an innocent smoothie a brand name?  Kaleb LOVES fresh blackberries.

Yes, and it's a REALLY good one too - nothing from concentrated / no additives / etc. I'd really recommend them to anyone who can get them (and the cartons are always a funny read too). Here's the link if anyone's interested:
