Desperate for advice
« on: December 09, 2013, 05:00:03 am »
My 11 week old who wighs almost 15 lbs still eats round the clock and has not dropped any night and feeds.

What's going on??
How can I get him to do a 7 hour stretch Sony can sleep and make more milk.

How long does he go between feeds?  Some babies do take longer than others to make it past those shorter stretches.  My ds was one of those every 3 hours round the clock until the 3/4 month mark.

He takes 3 hours at night in between feeds
But, from 7 am to 8 pm it's every 2 hours or 1.45 hours on average.

Are you burping him well at all those feeds?  Is he taking good feeds or just dozing and eating a bit?

He takes in quite a bit . And gets burped.
At least 3 oz each feed. He is breadtfed but i sometimes pump and feed to check my milk levels.

Is he generally happy and content other than that?  Does he spit up at all, is he fussy or show other signs of discomfort?  It could just be that's the way he is (he does sound somewhat like my ds which is really frustrating I know...)

Has he always been like this or is it recent?  Could be a growth spurt.  You could try a pacifier at this age if you haven't already to try to get him to go longer between feeds and learn to fill up a bit more so that he can go 2.5-3 hrs during the day?

Hugs for the exhaustion - my LO was similar until about 3 months.
