Teething could definitely be the culprit - My DS went on a bottle strike and refused to touch a bottle for 5 days when he was teething.

but this has been ongoing...he eats very little during the day and then feasts at night. today he has had 141/2 oz only.  ???

What bottles are you using?  Have you tried trying a different bottle / shaped teat?

avent with number 2 and 3 nipple....any sugestsions on what bottle i should try?

We found with the Avent bottles they gave our DS a lot of wind when he was younger.  We used the NUK teats on a normal long neck bottle.  I have also heard good things about the DR Brown bottles, but they are quite expensive.
