What is your drop-dead favourite activity with your toddler?
« on: February 16, 2007, 06:46:47 am »
I was just thinking about this because our favourite was throwing soft balls down the hall.  I had the benefit of sitting at the end (so my chill out time) while she ran up and down the hall, laughing and wearing herself out.   ;D

I keep forgetting lately, don't know why we got out of the routine of doing it.

What is you and your little one's favourite?

oooh good question. I know Sam is a bit older but it's been the same activity for as long as I can remember: reading and sharing books. Snuggled up together - reading and sharing. Sam filling in the bits he remembers, making comments, getting excited. Then watching him going out into the real world and connecting with what he has read. Very special.

I'd also rate tickling, dancing and bathtime.

At the minute DD's favourite pastime is catching the ball.  She can throw really well at me or DP.
She can't catch so well but we've been practising with a balloon and as it falls slowly she has time
to catch it  ;)  she's getting there............most importantly it's fun!

favourite activity, dd putting me to bed, we can do this anywhere, i lay down  ;) she puts blankets on me, 2 or 3 the more the longer it takes, she shh/pats me, i yell out 'no door' and 'one more big hug' ....... i cry some, gets me heaps of cuddles and kisses, she sits and reads me stories, does pretty good with remembering the words, so cute, often dh and i will both be playing

but i must say the my favourite time is first thing in the morning, when i am bfing dd2 dd1 sits next to me drinks her first drink for the day, snuggles up real close, she rubs my silky pjs between her fingers

Putting one of my cds on and bopping around like mad things together. :)

I love reading books, but ds thinks that sitting down for more than 30 seconds is for wimps ::).

Max's favourite pass time is his newly aquired skill of climbing......on the sofa, up the stairs, on his foot stool, on me, on DH, on the bed, on the coffee table, if its sturdy he'll climb it  ::), we also love to dance and run back and forth across the living room.

Playing peek-a-boo.  Ds directs me, "mom peek!" "dog peek!" "boowaf (giraffe) peek!"  Will it ever go out of style?  ;)

Same here!  Dd LOVES her cardboard box.  It has been a boat, plane, car, slide, bed (with her legs hanging over the edge) and a train like Thomas.
